I already do that, along with the nails extracted from the fire ashes, with the help of a magnet, a full bean can of nails is worth about 9p

We also weigh in newspapers, junk mail, baked bean can labels, etc. for £50/tonne.

I take it you are rather partial to the odd ton of baked beans Scrungee. Windy up your way is it?

I've been buying loads of meat from an Asian Store that has a butcher

I bought 1,82kg of mutton chops today .... cost was £6.99 per kg .... (£12.76 total cost)

Tesco don't have mutton, but their lamb chops are £14.99/kg ... I would have paid £27.28 for the same amount ... so I saved £14.52

I also bought a bag of 20 frozen lamb samosas for £4.99

            Thanks for a confirmation
I like Mutton, it is a stronger flavour of Lamb, only I could not buy it
Someone advised me all the Mutton is sold to Asians, we do have a Halal supermarket with a butchers but it is a drive away, so have not really followed it up

This week I will make the trip, and hopefully the result will be a good mutton stew for the weekend, along with some reasonable sized gigot chops :)

Where on earth do you store 160kg of empty baked bean tins?! :thud:

Also how do you find out where your local recycling centre is that will pay cash for newspapers?

Stamp them flat and store them in various compost/dog feed/chicken feed/coal, cement, sand, ballast, etc. bags, tied up with baler twine.

                Google!

Beware of trying to save money by buying cheap deodorant from Morrisons as it's not suitable for 'Emergency Use'.

P.S. What is 'Emergency' deodorant use?

I use "Swarfega" as a stain remover on my clothes, dab it on the spot, leave 10 mins throw it in the washer with the rest of the washing. It has never yet damaged any of my clothing and I have used it on most materials. Less than One pound in pound "type" stores ,and you only use a little.:WINK1:

Did they also point out that to do this on a regular basis will eventually stain your toilet due to the colourants used in cola?
