Huh, spoke too soon! A windy gust, from only the Lord knows where, suddenly blew this handsome fuchsia (Garden News)flat on its face. Broke the ceramic pot clean in two and then went.:wallbanging: So,out to the garage to find a replacement( only got a plastic one not in use),smash up the glazed bits to put in the base, struggle in a Force 8 gale to pot up a circle into an hexagonal with the bag of compost dragged from the back of the garage to the windy patio garden and put it back. Luckily, no broken stems to lament over. todays tribulation 24 9 2012 002.JPG

First saw them in B&Q last Spring, but were a little bit beyond budget (cue: egg meals for a month :heehee: ); then, spotted them in "The Range" at a slightly less price - having said that, perhaps B&Q will now have a sale on?? :noidea:

Oh you are *such* a show-off ("I'll even put it together myself" :rolleyespink: ) :nonofinger: Having seen your patio, greenhouse, garden, I have *no* doubt in your skills, FC ... now, had you promised a tutorial to Mr Mum .... ???? I *may* have been impressed :heehee: :roflol:

Cherub, seriously! If anyone were able to teach Mr Mum a few (manly) practicalities - or even *me* - I would buy a half dozen manger troughs to the tutor!!! :roflol:

Ah, a terminal case then? A colleague at work is exactly the same - we banned him from using tools for anything for his own safety, as he barely knows one end of a screwdriver from the other.

I just have a bash, and see how I get on - or ask for instructions off the internet; I'm no expert that is for sure.

                      Torrential rain and gales SO
I jumped in the car, and came back with
a 50lt bag of organic compost (home base £2.99)
                      Polestar runner bean seeds
                      Chantenay red cored carrot seeds
                      Patriot f1 courgette seeds
                      Bedfordshire Champion onion seeds
                      Oh and some blotting paper

I do not know why, I just did Concretes on hold and giving it a go for a further year :-)

1)the plant and its soil weighed more than the compost brought from the garage to the back patio
                        2) HWMBO painted the garage floor with shiney red sealant in early Spring - cleaner than the kitchen floor most days. I have to get written permission to enter and store stuff. DO POTTING UP IN THE GARAGE?? :mute::nonofinger::thud:

Is the blotting paper to soak up the rain Jack! :) Send some my way if you have any spare please, my garden looks the same as Mum's at the moment. Is the rain ever going to stop!
