My daughter worked for one of these PPI companies.

Most people say they don't know or haven't taken out PPI.
Yet, the fact is that most people don't even realise they have because when they sign a credit agreement it's already incorporated in the figures. For instance if you've ever bought a three piece on interest free from DFS you almost certainly will have PPI.

She knows of one individual who had a lot of finance for his buisness owed over £30k alone on mis-sold PPI!

 

Except, if you are a cash purchaser?

 

I might make a PPI claim. Years ago I took out a sizeable loan, which I needed to do so they had me over a barrel. They added PPI automatically and when I questioned the numbers because they didn't tally, I was told that x amount was PPI, and that the bank may not be as able to extend the credit without it.

I did nothing about it, because I didn't think I could. By the time the whole PPI fiasco came to light it had been just over 6 years since the loan was settled. I've since found out the time limit is 10 years not the 6 I thought, so I might ask for my money back.

 

If you can buy a house, car and expensive holidays in cash, I'm going to kidnap you.

You're exactly the sort of person they have being blackmailing! Good luck.
Phone them or write to them stating you have been mis-sold PPI and demand your money back. They will refuse and it will be referred to the ombudsman.
It takes time but they will settle.

Mrs al has just printed 7 forms to send out to various places to see what she can claim back. From finance on cars to fridge freezers to her previous mortgage. All this is from before I met her. I reckon with the few bits on finance and previous loans and mortgage there should be something in there.
