I have loads of Rudbeckia and Asters blooming, despite the recent rain trying to flatten them. I also have Anthemis still going strong and the ever present Red Valerian!

Hi Strongy, was thinking to take them in before it gets frosty, just to prolong their flowering, but I don't know if they would like it. Haven't got ideal conditions, its only our guest loo which serves as winter greenhouse, maybe I give it a go...

Hi Armandii, yes I have attempted to get some late flowering plants for exactly that purpose ... The very latest will be the chrysanthemums by the end of october - the very ones which you can buy very cheap in large pots everywhere. Downside: the brilliance of the colours is not as vibrant, only yellow, brown-orange and a dull pink
Well, and then it's SPRING preparations again:-)

Hi Spruce, Hi Mum, the lanterns (Physalis) are easy plants, they are spreading, but not in a way that you get frightened
