Extremely large catapillar

    Hello all,

    Found this while i was having a cigarette crawling up my drive way. i thought jaba the hut was making a comeback! I photographed it next to a peg to try and show it's size

      it look like hawk-moth caterpillar they are huge moth.

        Get the caterpillar , feed it and job done.....many peoples are growing butterfly as hobbie .

        I just found a nice glass vessel to grow it in then suddenly it's vanished!!! but i will keep a look out for it!

        Caterpillar are smarter then many peoples I know , they tend to hyde really well , shake the plants , try to catch for 2 reason , one you can grow it and 2 because they can eat an entire plant in a day .

        uh oh i put it in my mint tub, don't know if they like mint but it was coming to winter time for it anyways :D

            There are many variety of hawk-moth and many are really pretty.

            I've had a couple of different ones chomping the crud out of my brugmansia plants. Picked off 6 in one day and shifted them to the bottom of the garden. Some are really pretty!
