Aloha, managed to get nearly all my pears off the tree, just a few at the very top that are hanging on. Perhaps I'll give it a good shake tomorrow. Don't laugh, but we had quite a few leaves on the lawn, so I got my old carpet sweeper, and ran that over the grass, it's easier on my back, and it gathered quite a bit. Made a yummy chutney with my marrow, but added loads of goodies in it, cooked it slowly for nearly 2 hours. Prepared all my peppers for a chutney tomorrow, got a box of 192 jars arriving on Thursday, so I will have my work cut out. Just sitting down to Corned Beef Hash and a glass of beer, so cheers every:ccheers: one

    Aloha!

Some of us are now using it after I explained how it's used on Hawaii :dbgrtmb:. I found it very appropriate for a lot of situations and I got used to using it when I was out there, last century :heehee: , writing my guidebook. This explanation, taken from a Hawaiian website gives a good definition.

"Aloha is a word in the Hawaiian language that has numerous meanings both as a single word and when used in context with other words. The most common uses are as a greeting, farewell or a salutation. Aloha is also commonly used to mean love. It can also be used to express compassion, regret or sympathy."

We have another lovely morning today and it looks set fair for the whole day.

Moyra, I hope your day went well and that you are relaxing now :wub2:

    Liliana, that's a lot of chutney! :hate-shocked:

We have guests for lunch today and then, this afternoon, I shall take Mrs Shiney to the station. She's been invited to Imperial College for a lecture on cancer. Mrs S has been working with the specialist that's giving the talk as he's using one of her patients as part of the lecture. They've been working together with the patient - she's the one I cooked the meals for last week. :dbgrtmb:

    Have a great day

    Aloha!

    Aloha Everyone,

Well, I made it not without that sick feeling staying with me up until I got home again and it was so tiring. We had a good run down and back however and although I couldn't do justice to it we had a lovely lunch with our other friends down there at Durley Chine, Bournemouth. We sat overlooking the sea. We drove down and it was dry until we actually got into the restuarant and then the heavens opened. It soon dried up again and we had a dry run home too so we were very fortunate.

Well I achieved it! Steve thought I would pull out because I looked so ill but I am a determined little character when it comes to it. Another notch to my bow. The friends down there want me to go down again and stay a night next time. Now that would be a big jump for me.

Thank you all for your good wishes for me I am sure it is your support that gives me strength to stretch my horizons beyond my own front door. Have a good day everybody and look after yourselves. God Bless.

    Aloha!:wub2:

      Good morning everyone,

Its going to be a nice day here, warm but rain later on.

I'm off at 8am to take the truck for an oil change, and need them to check the brakes, the front a squeeking a bit, but with all the driving i do, I'm not surprised at all.

Have a couple local errands to do, and then Brad, Diesel and I are leaving at noon to drive down to get Kait until Monday, since its our Thanksgiving this weekend.

Hope everyone has a great day!!

Hello again. Still quite sunny, though I think we could be in for a drop of rain later. Just sitting down to lunch, after having a busy morning. Made 2 batches of chutney, a banana one (indian style, with turmeric and curry powder). And I made one a spicy mixed pepper, just nice for some beef taco's.
