i'm hoping that i'll be able to cut the lawn when i get in from work, and tidy the borders up. the bedding dahlias are still going great guns as are the coleus, but other than that, there is no colour left. i'm going to get some ideas for winter baskets this weekend if i have time.

Nothing today, but we have been out today and mice has treated me to a new long handled fork and a bulb planter. Going to test run them tomorrow. Well that's the plan but it's poker night with the boys tonight so it might be late tomorrow.

Been out the front today pruning back various of next door's shrubs that have grown vigorously this summer (he's elderly so I do them for him).

One in particular is a huge and very old rose; he says he planted when they moved in to his house in 1976 :hate-shocked:, I must admit its very thick at the base but its never been pruned properly and stands at an ungainly 8-9ft or so!!! Last spring I pruned it back lightly and took out a lot of dead wood and gave it a good feed; as a result its flowered prefusely this year, but it's almost finished so I've taken about 12-18" off it to tidy it up and reduce wind-rock, also removing crossing stems. In the spring I'll take it back by about half to try and get it back down to where it should be :)

Also done a bit more work to the little fence out back :)

De mossed the mono-bloc front drive using an old yale AA Key 50 sq mts
achieved half a bag of moss and muck
Took two spare bags of HM down to old Aunties and spread it about the top rose bed
