Biggest difference that I've found with younger Queen Vics as to hardiness is to leave the larger stems on until it is back in growth in later spring. Looks messy, buts stops rot.

Do you think a bell-cloche would work, instead of lifting them to a cold frame?

Probably. But I need to lift divisions anyway, and I lack cloches!

One of my favourite plants, Roders:thumbsup::snork: When they're happy in a garden and starting spreading they really extend the season!:hapydancsmil:

Plenty of colour in the garden without all the Heucheras!
Erysimum Bowles Mauve has flowered since planting it in March.

            Oxalis Sunset Velvet.

Begonia Grandis Evansiana is just flowering now.

Containers of Fuchsias Thalia, Garten Meister Bondstat and Begonia Red Dragon still have colour.

Non flowering annual Hibiscus Acetosella Red Shield had a slow start and will probably stop growing now.

How do you over winter Thalia Strongy? I lifted mine a few days ago as it has done so well this year that I thought it may be worth preserving.

Aconitum carmichaelii "Arendsi" is the second (and last I reckon) of the Aconitum that I bought with me to bloom...............

Alstromeria psittacina is putting out new flower stems..............

The only reason that a large clump of Japanese Anenomes has escaped the dump so far is that my Passiflora Amethyst escaped the greenhouse and started growing amongst them!

              I just love these two;
Fuchsia procumbens still produces a handful of flowers, complete with blue pollen..............

And Grevillea juniperina is finally in full bloom...............

LongK, I bought two Thalias and a Bondstat as small plants in the Spring and later planted them togethter in the same container. It's now going to be imppossible to splt them up so I'll cut them back and overwinter them in the greenhouse (when it's up), hopefully heated to around 5/7c keeping them fairly dry.

Hi Kristen, yes its definitely a 'hederifolium' (it has the classic leaves of this variety) and I've grown pure whites and pinks in the past but I've not seen this flower colour before (pink & white) :)
