Sorry miraflores but I still can't make out what your avatar actually is, and that link didn't work :dunno:

so here is a typcal example of avatar which is not seen the same way as the owner of the avatar!
This is the APPLE logo, which is a broadly known company, and yet it has not being recognized. I wonder why...is it because it is a bit sidewise or because of the backgound?

I could tell straight away when i saw the Apple symble what it was and whose company it belonged to:smile: I just wasn't sure if it is allowed to be used by us mere mortals without permission:scratch:

that was exactly my thought when I decided to use a picture of their logo taken from a private individual whose credentials I dutifully kept in my profile. although for a non profit use as it is that of an avatar, I doubt anybody would have something to object...usually that applies if there is significant loss for the company or significant gain for the individual, in other cases both parties don't mind a little interchange.

Is that you behind a sunflower?

I just thought it was you on a bad day! :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

I know that my avatar is a bit indistinct but I've had it for a long time and people recognise it as mine.

It's my old friend 'Red' from the rainforest in Zanzibar. He was quite interested in my camera, but then found something on his leaf more interesting - and tasty :heehee:

          To change the avatar you

hover the mouse on top of your name on the green bar (next to inbox/alerts/log out)

select "avatar" from the drop down menu,

browse among the pictures stored in your pc, choose and click ok
(obviously you will have to store the desired picture first)

PS that gravatar is a different story but i have not used it yet so I cannot advise you.

I recognised your avatar as well Miraflores. :) My only comment would be I wouldn't use something like this and give that particular company free advertising. There's adverts or logo's on just about everything these days and I object to it, why should I advertise for other people. I remove them wherever I can. :)
