Royal Mail Email Scam

Be warned. I happened to check my junk folder just now, and saw an email in there claiming to be from Royal Mail, telling me that my package was available for pickup.

Ok, a few things that rouse suspicion.

1. I do shop online quite a lot, but I always remember what I've ordered, what I've received, and what I'm still waiting for. I knew that nothing is outstanding.

2. I've never given Royal Mail my email address.

3. the email wasn't even from a Royal Mail domain (some random email, 'on behalf of Royal Mail', yeah right).

4. If Royal Mail fail to deliver anything, they post a card through the door.

The email asks you to download the attached invoice. Naturally i didn't becauseyou can bet it would result in me spending the next many hours trying to get my computer working properly again.

Its been said time and time again to never open email attachments, unless you trust the sender. You would think pretty much everyone would know that. But I guess so many still do open these attachments, or they would not send them out anymore.
