    Good to hear Armandii - funnily enough, the dealer I am going to see (Imperial Cars in Southampton) have already told me that the car will undergo an RAC inspection, and that I will be emailed the results from that inspection; anything arising will be rectified as necessary. Don't think I can ask for fairer than that?

    No, that sounds pretty good, FC......I always look at a bloke, whether it's to do with buying a car or not, and ask myself "would I buy a second hand car from him?" as a mark of whether I would work with him or trust him:heehee:

      I am guilty of judging people in a similar way Armandii - I haven't actually met the dealer yet, but I already know where he lives, and where his sister lives (area wise) - that kind of personal.interaction speaks volumes to me

        This wont help sorry!!! I Imported mine From the USA Reason being it is a 1963 and in this country most 1963 vehicals are rotten from our salty roads i wanted a rot free model to use in our dry months wot few we have :doh: so spends most its life in my garage my misses car i got from toyota its a yarris £7k and only £20 a year road tax guz to the moon and back on £20 petrol even @ todays prices and my every day nail my caddy i got from soham out the paper :lunapic 130165696578242 5: again goes to the moon and back on £20 derv and a grate tool for gardening and brick collecting but a labour of love to keep on the road as is the splitty love your choice FC

          Thanks Nick - as its the CR engine, I'm hoping to avoid all the nasties that came with the updated PD engines

            I went for the middle BHP model (143), as I reckon that its the best blend of economy and power; I don't really need 170, or even the 240, but also thought that the 120 would feel a bit sluggish.

            Few more phone calls today, mainly sorting finance, and so far all still seems to be good.
