Evening thought I would say hello.
A recent convert shall we say to gardening, as the screen name suggest a biker who till now thought gardening was concrete and sheds, for the bikes.
However a move 18 month ago to a rural cottage with a garden has slowly made a convert of me.
This year, our second summer, I have done the hard work and dug out the beds that had years of weeds and assorted plants, to be honest some I was not sure if they were weeds.
So starting a fresh with no knowledge ,but growing enthusiasm, much to my wife’s amusement.
Looking forward to learning off here

    Hello and welcome.

Why don't you post up some pics of your garden and your bikes. There are folks here that appreciate both:dbgrtmb:

Will do tomorow when i can get some, the garden anyway.
As to bikes don't have one at the moment.
Odd layout here where to get to garden have to go through neighbours garden,so nowhere to store a bike.
Working on it though with farmer at bottom of track.

When I was a kid, and some of my mates had clapped out motorbikes to use off road (with land-owner's permission), my dad bought me my first motorbike to have a bit of fun on. It was a BSA Easy Rider.

It cost £15 because it was an MOT failure. Spares or repair. The exhaust was rotten, and the clutch had failed completely. The front suspension had seized too.

Because I was 11 or 12, of course it had to be 'done up' as an off roader. First job was to sort the failed clutch. It was the 80's. There was no eBay (or interweb for that matter) and everyone was skint, so no replacement clutch parts. My mate's dad (who had the best drill) came up with the idea of drilling through both halves of the clutch and sticking a bolt through it, so that it became a fixed drive arrangement, stuck in second (top) gear. After that, I removed the mud guards, stand, all lights, and the remains of the exhaust. As it was a non-runner too, I had to botch on parts from other bikes (bought for pence from the bike shop at the end of our street, I think the chap who ran the shop was more interested in the project than the profit). The back shocks were replaced with ones off a grandad 90 (Honda C90) because they were longer and had more travel. The carb was a botch up from various mopeds. The exhuast pipe was a piece of copper pipe that I'd carefully shaped using my mate's dad's pipe bending tools, the pre-HT ignition ran up to the handlebars, across, and down the other side with a plug/socket junction on that connected via a bit of string to my jacket, so as to function as an engine cut-off if I became seperated from the bike.

I had load of fun with that little machine, until some scrote nicked it.

:sign0016: Lowrider - starting from scratch in the garden must be quite exciting - you can put your own ideas into it, plus ideas from the gang here and they sure do have plenty of them.

Welcome to GC Lowrider. Sounds like you've been hard at work in your garden. With all the beds sorted now you can enjoy re-filling them. :)

My whole family are bikers and as you can see by my location I live beside the most famous road racing circuit in the world.

              Thanks for all the replies.
It is exciting starting fresh, first Summer we thought we could just "trim" the exsisting plants but soon found that was not possible.
So went for it and dug out loads and weeded and pruned, first name terms with local tip guys with recycling now.
Though local is stiill a 20 mile round trip:dunno:
Pretty sure its going to be a steep learning curve

Yes, James is still here. It's never too late to do TT Lowrider, with or without a bike. :)
