I`m not a great fanatic of herbs , but as i almost kicked out my miss out of the garden with her invasive mint , potatoes, garlic and so on she is claiming her patch back , so i found i way to enjoy and make her happy.
i always wanted to start some bonsai to contemplate my tropical garden ...and look what it come along.

Most excellent. What are the red things on the thyme 'tree'? They look like fruit, but I didn't think thyme produced fruit.

the thyme bonsai with red berries. it is a Cotonester, micro filius (bad spelling) , thyme.it is not a real herb or thyme. i want mine to look like. i must say it is the most beautiful one i have seen. the birds eat the berry in winter. i am envious . i have 22 to make a garden railroad apple orchard layout in pots. i joined up just to reply. i am a beginner at bonsai. Will you make a stir fry? Fry a few onions, and some bacon, don't start me off, or this will become a cookery forum....:rolleyespink:

I use cabbage for stir fry or home made coslow , this is the left over stalk.

Of course that we can`t tecnically call them bonsai as the word bonsai is related to tree , but what I saying is , something it incredible what can you do with nature ....

I'm not too bad thanks how are you? They look pretty good! ive stuck mine for overwintering and regrowth now so they get loads of light but no heat all of them just stumps in the soil with new growth that awkward light green colour. I'd just prevent them from getting too much more straggly branchwise. or train the branches with wire im contemplating making a shaped one but dont know if its worth the effort lol :D
