Was thinking the same thing. Zigs gaff is roughly twice the value of mine, so no chance for me.

:hate-shocked: Gosh Zigs, for a professional woman, how could she do so much damage?

Did you and Willow try to keep the mess cleaned up or did she just trash the place whilst you guys were away at school/working? Can't figure that bit out ...

Place looks absolutely ACE now and you should sell quickly. I know of a nice place in the Algarve looking for a loving, caring long-term tenant near the sea. xx

The (rented) house I live in was bought for £250k just over a year ago - two bedrooms, nice, and a decent size garden, but the house itself is fairly compact (no front garden to speak of, and car size drive only at the side); Don't get me wrong - I would buy this house (or similar) if I could, and I could happily afford a mortgage on it - what I don't have is the £50k or £60k deposit that they would want.

A house like Zig's around here would be at least £400-£450k

Not just the same country, it pretty much happens in the same postcode.

I live in one suburb, where most of the houses are a good size. All nice big semis, not like modern shoe box houses. Apart from the main part of the house, consisting of good sized lounge, good sized kitchen, separate small dining room, and 3 bedrooms and bathroom upstairs, there's also a garage size room stuck on the side, a utility room after that, a good sized back garden, small front garden, and block paved drive to the side. I'd guess at the value of my house today at around £95k.

About a mile away, in the same postal district, in an patch of town with to be honest, no character at all (relatively new build), to get a house the size of mine you'd be looking at upwards of £160k.

And what if you want a house the size of mine, in the same town, but right on the sea front? £ForgetIt. Or roughly £220k.
