I managed to get hold of sysirinchium macounii album today. I had it years ago but lost it. It's a wonderful, non-seeding, delicate-looking plant with pure white flowers some 6" high during late spring and summer. Totally unlike other sysirinchium that seed everywhere. I used to sell plants a few years ago and everyone wanted it. Don't know where I got it from originally. Also a euryops called Acreaus. Slightly tender small silver shrub with yellow flowers. Fantastic in a terracotta pot but doesn't like winter wet. Did I say I like my plants?? what plants are you guys wanting?

Not heard of that before, had to Google :) Pretty looking little thing :blue thumb:

Sorry, wandering off topic, but I've dug up probably 100 Teasel thistles that have self sown and will be overcrowded next year. I wonder if I should flog them on eBay? ... seems a waste to chuck them on the compost heap if someone could use them.

The postage costs may be a killer though ... perhaps I should weight 10 plants and see how much the postage is, folk might be prepared to pay for that many, whereas for one's and two's the postage is silly.

Longk, that's just the thing.....I don't want it to self seed....the,sisynchriums nearly all seed everywhere and become a problem. Macounii album is truly a beautiful thing unlike the rest. Yes, I can see why you like your chosen plants. Come on fellow posters, what do you want in your own gardens?

Not here - they barely get through the winter!

Are you familiar with Diplarrena morea?

Could almost be hardy where you are with a bit of luck. Grows to about 20cm in height.

I like the smaller species in the Iris family as they tend to make good pot specimens. The next Sisyrinchium that I buy will be pot grown.
Aristea ecklonii is certainly hardy in Cornwalls Heligan Gardens. Not so here though...........

Again, you put me to shame longk. I don't know this plant either but what a wonderful blue. Do you grow it yourself? When does it flower, how long for and what conditions does it like? Just found a new nursery specialising in rare and unusual plants! Edrom nurseries. I will check their website and see if they have some of plants you mention

I grew it last year, but it copped it over the winter. T'was happy in part shade in the border (it bloomed well and long). Down in the Jungle at Heligan it appears to be grown as a marginal and performs brilliantly!

        Love it!

I'm trying not to hog this thread, but here's another. This is completely eluding me - Plectranthus australis "Mona Lisa".................

Hi Verdun, The flowers look different. It grows tall like ours. Check on wikipedia for African foxglove. Do no know too much about it, having to read up about it.
