    :blue thumb: Aloha everyone,

Woo, I wish lots better :dbgrtmb:

Moyra, although it can be difficult, walking Amber must help you quite a lot as it gets you out and gives some exercise . I know that if I didn't have things to get me out and moving I would gradually start to seize up :old:

Loli, I don't know employment law any more but it doesn't seem right that you can get a disciplinary for being off sick. I would understand it if you had a serious interview to check that your sickness was genuine. Of course, it may just be a matter of wording  - possibly done to make it seem more serious. Don't let the B's get you down. Now, if you lived down near Shineyland you would only need to tell them that you'd set me onto them! That would sort them out :heehee:

liliana, it sounds as though you certainly make a lot of jams etc :hate-shocked:. Have you tried these suppliers?

I'm just sorting out my cooking routine for today and tomorrow. Today I'll do a veggie chilli with plain rice, followed by fresh fruit salad (mango, nectarine, melon) and apple crumble (got barrow loads of windfalls that we're cooking down and freezing). Tomorrow it will be Thai veggie curry with saffron rice, not sure about the rest yet (they'll probably ask for more apple crumble :)). I need to check with them how hot they like their food - it's easy to do it at different amounts of heat. I think this weekend's students are all therapists and nurses who are usually very easy to cook for.

Instead of relaxing tonight, we have just been asked to fill in at a quiz as a couple of people have gone sick. Apart from the person who asked us, I don't know whether we will know anyone.

Hi to Kandy, Penny and everyone.

Keep well and have a great day

    Aloha!

I'm just taking a break before getting going on the cooking :). I've had to do my usual job of guiding some of the students (over the phone) on how to find us - although they have detailed directions!

It's amazing with distance and journeys. We're only 30 minutes north of London. Today, someone has come from Sussex by car and took an hour and three quarters and someone has come from Glasgow in an hour and a half!!!!

        Aloha everyone,

That's what I tell myself Shiney that to keep walking stays off the day when I can no longer walk at all. Sometimes I wonder though if I am not wearing the joints out more but Amber needs her walks anyway and I don't go very far and she has to do the running around on her own up the green where I take her. Well I hope all you poorly people are on the mend and feeling better. Take care all please.

        Aloha!:wub2:

          A bit late again :snork:
Hello to all the lovely people on here - hope you are enjoying the weekend.
I managed to get outside and plant bulbs, sweep leaves and do a bit of tidying. It is quite mild here.

            Aloha everyone,

            Excellent photos, Kaz :dbgrtmb:

This is just a brief visit :). It's a nice mild morning and I was out there at 7 a.m., with the lights on, sweeping the loads of leaves on the patio that dropped yesterday and during the night!

The quiz last night was raising money for the Royal British Legion. They do a lot of good work :dbgrtmb:. We were fortunate to come first - especially as the round our captain decided to play the joker on was our worst round! She played it on 'Connections'. I hadn't the faintest idea what that was meant to be and had said we should play it on 'Maths' (and I got those all correct :patpat:).

Students are arriving - got to go.

Keep well and have a great day

            Aloha Everyone,

Flooded everywhere this morning. We surely have had some rain! Enjoy your day Shiney looking after your students. I hope everyone who was unwell are now recovered. Take good care of yourselves and have a good day.

            Good afternoon everyone,
We've been lucky here regarding the weather,i thought the sun was going to make an appearance but it's obviously not strong enough to burn through the fog...i do like listening to the fog horn on the Humber though:dbgrtmb:
Hope you've got the badger under controll Shiney....i was just listening to GQT and they were talking about dusting bulbs with curry powder to deter them so i wonder if it would work mixing with water and spraying round the edge of your garden....mind you the size of your place you'd need a dumper truck full of the stuff:heehee:
After digging my new rose bed yesterday i've had to put a make shift fence up to keep the dogs and chucks off....what is it with dogs and manure:biggrin:
I hope everyone is having a relaxing sunday:dbgrtmb:
            Take care everyone:SUNsmile:

Just finished the lunch and I've got the washing up to do.

Moyra, we only got a little rain last night. Today has been very overcast but mild.

Loli, spraying the boundary of the garden with dilute Jeyes Fluid seems to have worked :dbgrtmb:. I may have to do it regularly, maybe once a month, but it only took about 20 minutes.

Shiney do you think that would work for the foxes too.....i love my old foxes visiting...we seem to have an understanding re my chooks but the young ones are finding their own way now and they seem quite mischievious(sp)there are alot of them around this year....Also i could do to find a solution for the crows...yesterday and this morning we had them come and carry off 2 black birds:huh:....it's so sad...as we try our best to keep them all alive and that happens:sad:

It may work for the foxes but I'm not sure. I can't see it working for the crows.
