I've been studying the prices of cameras on ebay over the past week or so in more detail and although some cameras hold their value well, some people actually put starting/buy it now prices higher than what I can buy brand new :gaah:

I trying to grab hold of a Nikon D90 + lens(es) (budget allowing) but when people sell for so close to the price of a new one it's hard to find a reasonable priced one :cry3:

I honestly think I could buy new and sell for more lol but i'm not going down that road.

Anyone got one stashed away that they would consider selling at all?

No, but I agree with you, Tez. I've been searching for a particular Macro lens for my K5 and the prices for it have been very close to a new one or, as you say, more than the new price. I can wait!!!:snork:

    Saturday

I found a FULL FRAME Sony A900 second hand (phot going back to Cannon) New £2995 for £1140
I asked if he would take £1k
Fortunately he replied Thanks but no Thanks

Fortunate as my good glass is all for 1.5x c sensors (I had not realised at the time of bid)
I could not afford to get a lens for it :-)

    One day

It's not cheap, but it doesn't have to be expensive....unless you want it to be, CK:heehee:

Joe Cornish could take better landscapes than me using the bottom of a coke bottle, and I had the top of the line lens and camera available.

Its not the gear that makes the shot, its the photographer.

          Cheers that's my grandaughter bless.

High end cameras and lenes hold their value well and as Tez says you could buy genuine Canon/Nikon gear from China or Hong Kong and make a good profit selling it on especially if the exchange rate was favourable.

Ooooh., the good old "grey" market. But it is just the same gear priced differently.

I'm surprised you sold your Canon 70-200 F2.8 IS though, did you buy into "L" glass or something?

          Steve...:)
