    Hi all

    I have not got any orb spiders in my garden this year, normal have lots of them any one else noticed the lack of them as well or is it just where I live ?

      Unless the birds have had them , its like a robin and Jenny Wren festival at the moment

        We have hundreds around our garden and i aint joking, we also have lots of false widows too, which aren't nice little beasties and definately arent easy to get rid of!

        Is this an Orb-Web? I discovered it when I was took our fountain apart to store for winter.

          We've been remarking that there seem to be a lot more than usual. We reckon there must be hundreds in our garden - unless they keep running around to fool us. :heehee:

          I've had LOADS in our garden over the last few weeks; they've been having a right old feast on the daddy long legs (which we also had in plaque like numbers).....:)

            Yes I had one of those crawling up the bedroom curtain as I lay in bed watching tv , I went to get a glass and it had gone under the bed :hate-shocked: and I coudnt find it :hate-shocked:

              They are fast. And big. I don't mind if they're outside but I DON'T like seeing one in the house!!

                  When I had the dogs I trained them to catch house spiders, as a reward they would get a biscuit , one afternoon I heard scratching in the dinning room and found "April" one of my rescue Golden cocker spaniels jumping up the wall and in the process tearing off all the wall paper , two inches out of her reach a huge house spider just sitting on the wall. I coudnt shout at her as I had trained her and the others to do just that.

                  With a quick nudge she had two rewards :doggieshmooze:
