worry.. I'm not sure, I worry when I see frost coming but it's a mixture of worry, excitement and expectation!

You shouldn't worry much anyway Al, living on the north coast of Wirral :snork:

Since changing jobs four years ago, I work longer hours now so have less time for the garden at home.
Also I'm reaching the age where the aches and pains are a little more frequent (:old:), so I've had to train myself to stop fretting about all the jobs which need doing around the garden, do the essentials and just enjoy it.

The result is a more 'informal' style of garden where I try to work with nature rather than trying to control everything.

As a born worrier, I wouldn't say it's stopped me worrying about the garden, but I'm worrying less.

I'm with you Trunky, seem to have less time to spend on the garden, but try not to worry about it cos it's my respite from stress elsewhere. At least when I attack an overgrown bit I can see the difference later.

I think that if you don't worry you probably can't be a good gardener. I am sure the essense of gardening (like many other things) is to continually question what you are doing and strive to do better.

In my case I wonder (and worry) about where I am going. I started by trying to make a pretty garden with perennials in the border, then I moved on to collect Salvias, then I got seduced by the likes of Pete and others and into exotics. And LongK is trying to turn me into a collector of the downright weird. :heehee: (Cubanola - my foot). And Sal keeps urging me to go down to the local supermarket and grow the things off the shelves. The Eddoes did grow, but the rissoles didn't.

To hell with the garden - I am worried about my sanity.

Peter, I agree about possible lack of sanity - but I don't care. :snork:

Not sure I agree with the 'can't be a good gardener' bit. I'm more an Alfred E Neuman type! :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

I plan things, work at them but if they don't work out I shrug my shoulders, learn from what has happened (I hope) and move on. "What, me worry!"

            Ditto.:blue thumb:
Bad gardeners are more likely to be those who don't plan properly or have little experience. Still not worth worrying about.

No, it's a bad metal state. You should only be worried when you know there is something to worry about. And then it's not a helpful emotion.

I'm a bad gardeners, in fact I will hold my hands up and say I'm easily the worst gardener in here (I'm confident that is true), however it doesn't mean I don't care.. and at times, being such a bad gardener and not able to do much about it, is frustrating!

The only time I actually worry is when I realize, too late, that I haven't fleeced plants or put them under cover when there's a frost expected. I have been known to rush out at an advanced hour of the evening to do these things!
