Ok It's 2.30am and I swear I can hear shuffling around outside my window and I've been hearing it for the past 4 hours! and when it gets particularly winy or there's a loud noise outside I can here like tongue clicking but quiter and faster:skp::skp::skp:

now the only thing I can think of is that its a couple of bats next the bloomin window :hehe:

    am I going mad????

Aesculus,if you are worried that it might be bats why don't you look either on the internet or in your yellow pages to see if you can contact a local bat person who could come along with some equipment to listen for the clicking noises that bats emit when searching for food at night. You will soon find out whether it is bats or false teeth that is keeping you awake at night:D

Hi A .... isn't there a bat sanctuary in the town where you live? ... I thought there was. Perhaps give them a call. I can't remember their name but I remember their vans.

You should be ok. Just hang some garlic by the window and don't invite any strangers in.

Seriously though, if its a one off, I wouldn't bat an eyelid.

Aesculus- from your description they could well be bats-
they are gentle and harmless -yes- and blind and quite clumsy flyer.
In few words if you keep the window open one may slap on your neck with its humid wings and hold on to you with its creepy nails and furry body...and don't think that he let go easily.

The thing is, why has he moved house 4 times? Do the bats follow him around? Is he resisting a calling?:sofa:

Not entirely accurate as some, though very, very few, do carry a varient of rabies. A man locally died a couple of years ago as a result of a bite.

That was brought up in discussion at the local Cactus & succulent society meeting this month after a talk run by the guy who set-up the IOW bat hospital and he basically said the guy who died refused all treatment and otherwise would have been perfectly fine if he had had the vaccination... but 9 bats out of 10,000 surveyed since 1986 sounds like low odds to me and all were Daubenton's which are quite uncommon in comparison to to others?

all I can say is don't tell the farmers or there want them culled as well just in case :rolleyespink:
