I am considering painting the wall in the photo below, but I am not too sure that it won't end up making things look worse (particularly as I am thinking of running a roller across the front face only):

If it was me (and I don't have the best ideas ), I don't think I would paint it... maybe I would add 3 large round pots between planters (keep 2 planters and have a pot either side and middle) and have a large evergreen shrub in each pot.

Thanks kazzie - sadly, I cannot have round planters there, as the driveway isn't wide enough to cope with them and the car. I will have one in the top corner (right hand side of the picture above) which will house my passion flower when it goes out next spring.

I like the idea of evergreens though - just not sure how I would do it with the width available.

The one thing when it has been painted, is that you will have another job to do every year and if you then do not like it in years to come will be hard to get it off

But as you scroll down the page, wouldn't the paint stay in the same place on the screen.;)

I'd zap it with a pressure washer. Much more fun.

      Cheers, Tony.

        yea, pressure washer!!
paint always looks scruffy, I find

you could also plant sth climbing in those long green flower boxes or you attach them further up and get trailing plants

Putting them further up and planting them with trailing plants was one of my original ideas - might well be easier in the long run.

          PaINT!!!!!!!!

          I love paint, me! :snork:

Seriously tho matey, I'd whack a stabiliser coat on, then paint with a cream sandtex. Sandtex won't flake nor peel off. It's a cracking paint for masonry, brick, concrete and even wood ( despite what it says, masonry only!)

Do you think it would look OK only doing the front face though?

I'd have to go and buy a rod to make that one stick!

Mind you, she might think its code for something else and then expect a massage or something
