Well, I spent part of the day dragging some of the pots of Cannas, Bananas, Palms and Citrus bushes out of the garden into the shelter of the Kitchen for the Winter. I've still got around 35 to 40 large pots of the same to go in the Cool Room and, with a bit more squeezing, a few more somewhere into the Kitchen:heehee:

You're right, Joolz. I was thinking of moving the Fridge to another part of the Kitchen but thought better of it. So I settled for making sure the doors didn't come into contact with the nearest Pots! However, I have found one drawback already as I have a habit of walking from the Lounge at night into the Kitchen without switching on the light. I did that a few minutes ago without thinking and walked straight into the Jungle.:snork:

It would have to be a strong shelf, Joolz, as some of those pots seem to weigh a ton. The tallest one in the pics is Canna Musifolia Grande and I had to use a trolly to move it;)

Hi Spruce, I plan to chop them down after a week or two [to give them time to acclimatise] just leaving an inch of two above the compost. Yes, I reckon there's about 50% more pots in there this time.

Well, I wouldn't trust leaving a Palm out in the open during the Winter, Joolz, anyway. You only need a cold snap and they'd be gonners just like a lot of Palms, Cordilines were last Winter.
I've still got some room left in the Kitchen for some more pots without losing the table or moving the Fridge into the Lounge:heehee: I'm trying to train the Moggies to open the Fridge, take a beer out, pour it into a glass, and then bring it to me. They don't seem to understand and haven't got it right yet, because they can get the beer out of the Fridge, pour it into a glass, but then don't bring it to me....they just drink it.:snork:

I don't mind working up a sweat to get to the Fridge, gcc.:heehee:

Have you got a dehumidifier Armandii? I reckon those big leaf chaps will chuck out a lot of moisture, until they have dried enough to be ready for cutting down, and that damp will get into the house (at the very least it will make the house feel colder)

Big job there Armandii !! But you still have 40 more large pots to move . I have been moving my pots this week , they do seem to be getting a little heavier every year:old:
