It looks like we'll be getting a slightly early Christmas present. My Utonagan bitch(Shadow) mated yesterday with a very handsome stud dog. :hapydancsmil:

Whilst not the best Utonagan for type, that doesn't stop me from loving her to bits, Shadow does produce exceptional offspring judging by her last (first) litter.

Here's a piccie of the hopefully mum to be.

Not surprised Redstar, relatively new breed, we're only one of a tiny few breeding genuine Utonagans.

We can mate Shadow once more in 2 years time then subject to positive health test results, the mantle will fall onto Arwen to progress the breed.

We had a scare on Thursday, Shadow started bleeding from the nether region and we thought the worse, she was aborting the puppies? another rush to the Royal Veterinary College and SEVERAL ££'s later our fears were allieved, she had an infection and is on a course of antibiotics which seems to be doing the trick.

          Much relieved here

Watch those antibiotics how they affect the unborn. Hope the vet knows. What goes into mom goes down the umbilical cord to babies.

A quick update, Shadow is looking like a hippopotamus and starting to "nest" build (so that's where our clothes are disappearing to?). She's also "very lovey-dovey" and demands constant fuss! :doggieshmooze:

Less than a week to go, getting excited here. :dancy:
