Tomato Growing Thread 2012

I've not grown Tamina Sheal....but my Alicante's did me proud...

Yes I did grow Sungold this year and to be honest wasn't that impressed. Next year I'll go back to Suttons Golden Pearl (cherry), a mild flavour, but sweet and very more-ish.

This isn't an F1 variety. The description for Tamina as follows........A superb early potato-leaved variety with an oustanding taste ( thought to be better than ordinary leaved varieties), producing a heavy crop of medium sized, round fruits approx. 70g (2 1/2oz). Very little side shooting required.

 

I think I'll give it a go John instead of Alicante, if only to give everyone here a report.

 

Me too, and I would add Ailsa Craig to that list.

(Tomatoes that is; I grow Ailsa Craig Onions and like them)

 

I grew Tamina last year, they were good.

 

Currently in Vegas for a rather dull work thing - popped out to the local garden center yesterday & picked up some interesting seeds for next year:

so much for "only growing one type of tomato next year"...

 

Make the most of it. There seems to be so many more varities available in the U.S. and some suppliers don't ship to the U.K. (see you spelt garden center correctly!)

 

I've ordered Tamina, so here's to next years crop..........I hope!

Daniella tomato from october 2010. A hard fleshed and tasteless tomato that gave a lot of fruits...

 

Hardfleshed & tastless, but a heavy cropper, bet the supermarkets love that one
