Mrs Trunky and her sisters are off to Florida for a fortnight next summer.

Doesn't appeal to me in the slightest (Florida that is, not the wife), so I'll be looking after things at home and enjoying having the place to myself for a couple of weeks.

This of course means I can do whatever I want for my own holiday next year.
Left to my own devices, I'm quite happy staying in a B&B and doing a bit of walking and gentle hill climbing.

I've set myself the long term goal of visiting (or 'bagging') the highest point of every county in England, I've done nearly half of them so far.

Haven't bagged any in the west country yet, so if I can get the logistics right I'm toying with the idea of doing a 'grand tour' of the west country, taking in the county tops of Dorset, Devon, Cornwall and Somerset.

I don't 'do' holidays!! The pets, 3 dogs, 1 cat, 2 birds, 2 tanks of fish would make it difficult but quite honestly for me, holidays are over rated, quite content just potting around and good weather permitting being in the garden. :)

 'Staycation' for us too .. that is staying in Portugal as we have since 2006. Now we can go to our caravan/cabin on the river just 30 minutes from us, stay overnight if we like or come home and go back daily! :) No cooking for me though ... all eat out or take away. Furries babies will have to stay indoors unless it is day trips.

Nothing booked as yet. Saving for a new bathroom ( costing more than I ever thought :hate-shocked: )
Maybe Canada again at the end of the year to see the family.
                  Jealous sal very jealous :snork:

Sal, it's a brilliant place to visit. A few years ago we spent a month wandering round the islands - also stayed with friends. :dbgrtmb:

We haven't gone on any of our treks to distant places for the last two years but have had two short breaks each year to the Lake District. I'm working on sorting out another trek to see some ancient sites (no I shan't be looking in the mirror! :snork:) and how people live, or lived, in varying conditions.

Since I retired at the turn of the century we have seen some fascinating places ranging from deserts to jungles and rainforests and through mountains. We're slowing down now :old:.

Beginning of May 2013 again we will travel to Key West, Fl for our annual 2 weeks. To met up with about 400 others of us for a week of nightly parties, bar hopping, sunset cruises, and the blow out costume party (husband won first place last in 2012) Not sure what we will dress up this time, still thinking about it. So the place we are staying is booked, vacation submitted at work, just have to organize the plane.
Would love to get that Alaska cruise done in 2013 also.

Hey, Gemini, there are such things as house sitters so you could vacation. But that has a lot of trust attached to it.

Don't know yet where we will be going next year as we havn't thought that far ahead as the world is supposed to be ending according to the Mayans on December 21st or is it the rogue planet Nibiru that is going to crash into earth sometime soon so don't need to worry about future holidays:snork:

If the Mayans were that good at predicting the end of humanity how come they didn't predict their own demise:biggrin:
