Thank you Simbad. A friend has a single Leucantha in a largish pot. It has a stake in the centre of the pot and the growth is gently tied. Its about 5 ft tall and absolutely full of lilac flower spathes and is still sprouting more - all of which will continue to bloom until ? when? :dunno: I will keep an eye on it over the Winter. It has inspired me. I am gonna grow one in a pot next year.

Looking good Jenny, as Simbad has pretty much said, it's nice to see plants holding winter at bay. :)

Thank you Sheal. Still the border full of rampant geranium Macrorrhizum and ground elder to tackle. I am not looking forward to that as there are some special Salvias in there too. I am reluctant to disturb their roots so near to Winter's bite.
        Jenny

I'm sure they'll be fine Jenny. As long as you check that the roots are still covered with soil when you've finished, plants are tougher than we think. :)

Nothing new blooming, but I'm still surprised by what is in bloom in the garden at the moment.

            Eccromocarpus scaber................

            Abutilon x hybridum................

Touch and go whether it will survive the winter, but I have a spare in the shed.

Sollya heterophylla continues to bloom well.............

It'll have to go under cover soon though.

Rhodochiton is still producing the odd flower..............

Alstromeria psittacina always has a long season and this year is no exception............

Grevillea juniperina seems to be loving the cooler weather.................

Fuchsia "Hawkshead" is still looking good...............

Fuchsia procumbens is still producing the odd flower too..........

Amazingly, Lotus berthelotii has lots of new buds and some are very close to opening!

Hi Longk, no chance for Eccremocarpus flowers here any more, you seem to have it far more sheltered...

Lovely stuff everyone :), not much in flower here, garden still under development really, so need to get more late autumn/winter stuff in

                On the kitchen windowsill though I have one the common 'Christmas' cactus that is covered in buds and the first flower has just opened;

On the subject of things flowering late or still flowering, there's a garden on our street that still has a huge clump of multi-stemmed sunflowers in full flower (large flowered annual type not perennial) and a clump of gladioli that are only just throwing buds up...!!!
