V.C.10, flown out to Singapore in one in 1968! Cannot remember what I flew back in two years later, I think it may have been a Belfast!

      Cheers, Tony

I flew in an East African VC10 when I was posted to Kenya, and then in a Fokker 27 to get to the base. The VC10 was a great aircraft, very smooth in flight, very quiet as the engines were situated at the back and, if I remember correctly, one of the few commercial airliners to have the seats facing towards the back of the aircraft.:snork:

Why ? Is it so you don't see the 20,000ft mountain approaching as you fly at 19,000 ft :snork:

:lunapic 130165696578242 5: No, Harry, besides you would know about that when the Pilot, Co Pilot and Engineer dashed past you struggling to put on their parachutes.:heehee: I believe the safety thinking at that time was that facing rearward in the event of a crash meant less injury............but as the chances of surviving a airliner crash weren't all that good in the first place..........:coffee:
