Not sure how you store yours, but I store mine with a recipe software program. When I first began using it, it was a "pay for" download, but now, it is FREE :hapydancsmil:

So, if you are looking for a piece of software to organise and store recipes that you find online (or have the patience to transfer your own from your own recipe books) I can recommend "Big Oven" software.

Disclaimer: I am not associated with this company or their products. I am merely a happy "customer" :)

For years I've had this idea of building a website that lets you store details of what food and tools you have, as well as recipes, and special dietary restrictions and preferences. Everyone would do the same in the same online database. Then when you can't decide what to make, the website matches in the database recipes against stuff you can make and eat given what you've got in your cupboards.

Shame I never got round to doing it. Maybe someone else either has, or will nick my idea and do it for us:)

I cut and paste them into a word document and save them in a file marked recipes or print them off and keep them in a big ring binder. Seems a bit low tech compared with all your ideas!

Why not try the spreadsheet approach and keep them in one place. I have this on my pc and it allows me to store loads of recipes, ingredients, tools, and spices to use with various foods. Should make a lot of peoples storage space smaller if used correctly.

I just save it on the "Food Net work.com" or print it out and stuff it somewhere. Mostly I will look it up and scribble on a paper from the screen and move on. Or print it out and stuff it in a cookbook. I wonder how some cookbook authors can make money if lots of their recipes are free.

Same for many authors and the internet ... just have to rely on plagerism rules and regs I suppose?

Mind you, having said that ...

... I watched a Jamie Oliver Christmas special once and he made a stuffed onion recipe and I thought  hang on, that is *very* familiar ....

... yup! Straight out of a Marguerite Patten cookbook  He didn't even alter one ingredient!!!

Several years ago, I realized, with the cookbooks I have and the internet, and the food shows, I don't need to buy another cookbook which I have not. Have been getting Food and Wine mag. loaded with wonderful receipies can't even get to all of them, run out of time to even open the mag. I am stopping that mag. I have enough receipes.
