I'm one of those bizarre creatures who is not a lover of chocolate. Actually, I'm not really a sugary eater at all!

But, there are certain times when I absolutely *crave* chocolate! My most preferred type would be 80% cocoa, but, I would settle for a Galaxy when the craving hits.

Mr Mum, in his infinate wisdom, decided to keep a bar of Galaxy in the fridge for just such moments (thoughtful, huh?) :)

    Well, tonights the night!! :hapydancsmil:

    The craving has hit ...

    .. I have supplies  ...

... BLAST!! It's beyond it's use by date!! :wallbanging:

Unperturbed ... Mr Mum has sacrificed himself ....

.... by eating it :noidea: :cry3:

He's now reassuring me that he does *not* wish to alter his career to be a Bar Steward.

    Too late, methinks.

Well, the only way to ensure that his career remains on its current course, is surely to don the shoes and go and get you an in date, replacement bar of a chocolate of your choice (or whichever other sweet treat you may fancy)?

I bought some Almond plain chocolate 74% cocoa bars ,back from Cyprus nearly 2 years ago,BOGOF, I don`t know why it`s so difficult to get here,(Cadburys used to make it ,but only for export) I would kill for it.

It was always in the fridge and like you mum ,not one to look for it regularly, since O.H. died I sort of wended my way through them ,boredom probably, not one was still within date .

Reminds me of Sunday lunch when we were kids. Dad used to say that outside bit of a Pork Chop was poisonous, to to save us little ones, he used to eat it.

Has anyone noticed the new improved Cadbury's slab of Dairy Milk? I just new when Craft bought them out things would change for the worst. It's half the thickness now and half the fun!

Sheal ... half the fun is so much better than "no" fun! (Mr Mum has gone to bed and his brain didn't feed the message to his feet - thus, I am chocolateness - so that half slab is mighty tempting right now!)

Oh dear, if I read much more of this I'm going to have to breach that box of After Eight that's been sitting in the kitchen for a fortnight. I don't even like A8 very much.

Seriously now, how out-of-date does chocolate have to be before you refuse to eat it? Like, maybe I wouldn't eat it if it had just been excavated from a pharoah's tomb, but as long as it had been manufactured in the relevant century I'd give it consideration. Especially in times of need. After all, the stuff's packed with sugar and preservatives, I don't think it can be affected by the normal processes of decay.

Better go upstairs to check on Mr Mum, though, just to be on the safe side.
