That was the very first year i've grown tomatoes... I just took off the seeds from a tomato i bought in Tesco. :snork: This type was created in Israel around 1989, mainly for supermarkets, you're right!
This year was horrible for my tomatoes... But paprikas were fine.
My favorite one is Kapia. Is it known in the U.K.?

Don't often see Paprika's in the shops here, mainly just powdered ones. Bought some dried Hungarian ones a few years back but they didn't taste of anything.

Looks like you've had an amazing first season Scilla! What's your plans for your next crop? Going to do any different types of tomatoes?

There's a great book I read and I now grow my own San Marzono tomatoes.

Welcome to Gardeners Corner, Scilla, I think everyone in the UK has had two bad years for Tomatoes against what we normally get. The Bullocksheart tomato looks to be quite a hefty one in size and weight, but I would guess it's a favourite of yours because of the taste. We have quite a few experienced Tomato growers and I learn from them all the time!!:snork:

My tomatoes didn't even last until December this year, unlike last year when some were still OK on New Year's Day. Good job they're now on Super 6 at Aldi as what's left is only fit for hen food.

I've been assured my "Big Zac" seed will arrive from the USA before too long, will be interesting to compare them against "Big Boy" (saved seed from this years' biggest one)

I've got 3 pathetic fruits left, hoping they'll last for a turkey and tomato sarnie on boxing day?

For me, and I guess quite a few of us, it hasn't been a great year for our favourite greenhouse crop:frown: So, I'm really looking forward to a better season, next year. It isn't that far away:):blue thumb:

I was sent a free packet of mixed tomato seeds with my order from Suttons. The question is what to do with them? I haven't the room in my greenhouse for all of them, including the ones I bought and growing outside is not an option for me. Will the seeds be okay held over for another year please?

Tomato seeds keep for many years Sheal, provided you keep them somewhere dry and cool. Does the packet say what varieties?
