I've just harvested some seeds from my white Christmas Cactus. Has anyone grown them from seed? If so, how should I go about it?
I know that the plants are cheap and they strike easily from cuttings. I'm just doing it for the hell of it really.
    All advice gratefully received!

Oh, my goodness, Keith, how have you got seeds from it ?????? My red one will be in bloom for Christmas and my pink ones for later ... maybe Easter although they are Christmas ones ... :heehee: I have had them years and they do what they want to do but all live outdoors under the Jacarandas.

I have had hundreds of blooms on my Brugmansia this year ... in fact, it is still blooming under my 3 meter tall Poinsettia, and I haven't had a single seed off it. What is the secret?

The seeds on the Christmas Cactus have taken a year to mature! First time ever for me, which is kinda why I'm trying.

My Brug set a couple of pods but they fell off after a few weeks without coming to anything.

I've never come across them, but my guess would be to treat them similar to Epiphyllum seed.

That's another I've yet to grow!
I'm thinking to sow them on some orchid mix and forget. It worked (accidently) for the Alsobia seeds.

Surface sow on peat based with a bit of sharp sand added.
    25c should be ok.

I never like to waste homegrown seed myself.

Take the seeds out of the fruit, and wash the bits off.

      I would wait until spring.
Sow in a "epiphytic mix". Peat, vermiculite and a handfull of bark.
      Keep warm and humid.
