    Keep 'em coming everyone - it reminds me why I dislike them!

    Good coloured or variegated foliage in my collection includes;
    Ludisia discolor.................

        Mine only has variations on the leaf edges, which I gather is quite common in stuttgart - doesn't look as starting as that photo though :(

        Maybe next year it will look "sharper"? :)

        Its a relief to know that I'm not alone .... I've always thought I must be abnormal for not liking them!

          To be fair, it is the cream/white variegation that I really dislike. None of my Hosta are variegated, but the other two that I'm "hiding" have flowers that are just too good to allow my prejudices to get in the way!

            Jools68, I like canna Stuttgart. Must have that. Some variegated plants are very good..some awful. Astrantia Sunningdale is a wonderful sight in spring; pieris Flaming Silver with green n white leaves and vivid red new growth; all excellent for me. The rule is I think is not to site variegated plants next to other variegated plants. My thread includes coloured leaves so who would be without cotinus royal purple? Eucalyptus ? Acers.?

                    Longk, I have Huskers red and sparkling burgundy too. Sal73, dark star looks good to me. Will look it up. I have quite a collection of purple/red foliaged plants. Many grasses have this and variegated foliage and they light up everything. Yellow choisya to me is brilliant.......so we are all so different......and grown next to a dwarf purple berberis or pittosporum Tom thumb is good all year round

                      Do the white parts of the leaves not go crispy if in full sun on any of them(strutt&alocasia)? Its not that i dislike the look but i just couldnt imagine that they would look as good as the photos posted if we ever had a heatwave :) x

                      Just been reading about canna Stuttgart. It seems to be a fuzzy plant.....needs shade, moisture yet needs sun to flower well? Is it as good as the photos shown? Would welcome opinions before I decide to purchase.

                        Unfortunatly it`s a chimera , so it will not look the same as the original plant.
                        been looking for it long time .
                        talking about colored leaves this is in my wanted list as well.
