Same in Lincolnshire - but still lucky compared to some parts of the country.

After more rain last night and this morning, the island is under water. The south has ground to a halt with virtually every road closed and under water, rivers have burst and the fire brigade has been rescuing people from cars. Our mountain road is shut because of a bad accident and the rest of the island is struggling to move. Those wanting to shop in our only Tesco store that is in Douglas can't get there as the only road in, is under water too.

The rain has stopped briefly, but will be back later. Below the first picture to appear.

Underneath the water is a brand new roundabout, finished just a week ago.

Thanks Shiney and Grannie Annie. I live in the north-west which hasn't been hit so hard. But with all major shops in Douglas it's just not worth the fifteen mile attempt at getting there, for anyone. In fact my daughter was going to drive here from the other side of the island today but gave up just a few miles from home.

It's going to be a topsy turvey, somewhat chaotic Christmas for many. Fish fingers from the freezer maybe on the menu. And there's more to come,

Pretty wet all the morning http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/radar/

Eased off a bit now but the radar shows some more moving into the west, so it just a matter of working out how heavy it will be by the time it reaches here.

It has now stopped here, but its very murky/misty now, caused by the realtively humid/mild air for the time of year I suspect.

Its very, very wet out there on the ground now, water lying everywhere, very messy, just horrible...:frown:

Take care those in flood affected areas...:grphg:

It's been dark, cloudy and wet most of the day, although it has stopped raining for the moment. I looked at the record on the Garden Weather Station today and at 2.30pm it had recorded 52f!!!!............that' the highest temperature in weeks.:hate-shocked: But right now the temperature is 47f. The Good News is that from now on the daylight will get longer:hapydancsmil:

Just been watching the news regarding the rain - it looks as if it is getting worse. What a bad start for the run up to Christmas. 126 flood warnings over the UK with more on the way. Please take care everyone and keep us posted.

Rain, rain, and more rain, flooded between Thatcham and Reading.

Supposed to be heading up to Leicestershire on Monday, will have to check in for the road situation.
Never seen so much rain come down, what a wash out this Christmas and what a horrible time for those with the floods, not much fun will be had this year for some.

          Prayers to everyone.:santa-wave:
