A very merry Boxing Day to y'all :)

Think about planting already for next year, what have you got on your list or what have you got planned?

Me, myself and I am thinking of with the cash I received yesterday (ta mam!) I'd like another trachycarpus for the back garden, and maybe another small tree fern to put in a nice planter for the front.
I'm also planning for a few more lilies, cordys and phormiums, along with some tree dahlias and tree lillies. I think some more hardy gerberas and some different forms of crocosmia (other than lucifer) would be nice!

So, over to you, what are you thinking of putting in the garden next year?

        Hehe, thanks sal. :blue thumb:

There's a place near me (the garden house) run by a guy called Ade. Not a brilliant array, but definately half decent. The wife bought me a 6ft trachycarpus for chrimmy and he did have another at £75 which I think is a good price. I'll go tomo or fri and see if its still there, if it is, then it'll be on its way to me.

How long is the sale on for sal? I havn't had my tax bill in yet, ( hopefully between now and next week!) so I don't know how much free cash I have, so until then, no spending!

I am going to (cheat :heehee: ) plant a bed up a la Jo Swift, so my plant list includes a type of bamboo, already got the fatsia and angelica, just need the "lucifer" (montbretia?).

I'm going to wait though until our local County Show, because the bargains are well worth the wait!

I'm having a little bit of success with my "experiments": I bought some hebes, labelled "dying", from Wilko's back in September (I did post about them at the time) and they are coming on a treat! Plus, some "stick-it-in-and-see-what-happens" experiments are looking quite fertile and I'm very optimistic that they will be 2013 star turns - well, for me :new: (insert "beginner") - at least.

Not very good (yet!) at plant names and some of those sound very exotic, al-n; can't wait to see them ... then ... aspire!

I've got a whole list of 'wants' but will buy very few next year. I like to grow from cuttings and seeds as much as possible and have seeds for perrenials to get under way in late February/March. Far too many, it's going to be a bit of a challenge getting them all under way. :)

Just checked out amurlee and only have 3 out of the 6 plans in stock though!
Probably wait till later in the year to get them but will keep my out for sales though.

I have plans for my front garden ( again, I hear you all sigh) I want to change the shape of the L shaped borders to wavy lines as the edges are really chronic.
I bought some fuchsias last year and have ordered some more, http://www.otherfellow.co.uk/index.php ,,,http://www.gower-fuchsias.co.uk/ .Then with all the plants I am hoping to grow from seed, re the seed swap, should find it quite a busy spring.

None! My garden is already full to bursting with what seems like zillions of containers everywhere, so I really should downsize rather than buy any more. In reality I probably won't and will end up buying several more :snork:

One thing I do want to do is grow some roses from cuttings, because the ones I took a few months ago have mostly died, undoubtedly due to my cackhandedness

I'm dreaming of a five foot one in the garden!!!:dancy:

Me too - thirty quid for Hill House Nursery:hapydancsmil:

I going big on seeds too next year.
                        These arrived the other day;

                        Thysanotus multiflorus...............

                        Aristolachia clematatis................

An interesting climber - Kennedia nigricans...............

                        Lachenalia carnosa..................

To be honest, most things that I'm drawn to take a couple of years minimum, so from this years efforts the Iochroma australis, Kennedia rubicunda, yellow form of Gloriosa etc should bloom for the first time in 2013.

Lot's of Tricyrtis lasiocarpa coming along from seed. And thanks to Jenny and Simbad there should be lots of Salvia too!
