Never mind, if it doesn't dry out it could be one helluva mud wrestle at The Lowland Games this year.

I've just finished reading a book about the Irish Potato Famine, desperate times! I can imagine what it's going to be like in your area. Let's just hope the outcome is not as gloomy as it seems at the moment.

strongy mentioned paddy fields and Webmaster mentioned argo cats (which are vehicles that can drive almost anywhere). The picture is a tractor for use in a paddy field. I came across them a couple of weeks ago, on my travels. They were just between harvests as they can get three crops of rice grown in a year!

Too right, there was a small crack that developed between Bristol and New York when they were still joined together.

That crack is now the Atlantic Ocean:yikes:

Some of those pictures remind me of the Fen when I lived in Cambridge, A depressing place in the winter, But grows the most wonderful celery and carrots to die for.never found their equal in Dorset.

It's worth a visit on their annual open day which they hold in conjunction with http://www.seaspringseeds.co.uk/ (lots of chillies) who are based across the road and can also be combined with some fishing from the beach There's a good size tide that day, with high tide shortly after 11am BST, just right to pack up and go to the open days.

EDIT: Dammit! Mrs Scrungee thinks that might be the day our daughter returns from her World Challenge trip to Malaysia & Borneo, so I might not make it this year (we've now raised the £4,000 cost of the trip by selling plants, produce, etc. in 13 months, so just the equipment, jabs & spending money to go)

Make a note in your diaries if you're going to be that way.

I met Sea Spring Seeds at the West Dean Chilli Festival. Michael Meacher of River Cottage fame was there. I've put them in our Business Directory:)

I've only just noticed that listing. Sea Spring Seeds were featured in The Daily Telegraph last year.

P.S. Did you mean Michael Meacher - that dodgy Labour M.P. or Michael Michaud?
