Interesting .... I am also with TalkTalk but will never change as they not only give me free BB, LL for £10 but free local, national and international dialling 24/7 as well! Now I KNOW I'll not get better than that anywhere else! Specially as I make at least one overseas call each night and some last 60 mins or more! My monthly phone bill is usually between £25-35 depending upon how many 0879 numbers I've called!

I don't get the regular drop-out problem that jjordie does but I do get drop-outs for a few minutes now and again at no particular time of the day. When it happens, I usually just go have a game of spider solitaire for a few mins or do the washing up and eventually it comes on again. I did have a persistent problem with connection failures a few months ago and the Outreach engineer came at the behest of TT and supplied me with a new router which seemed to be the problem as it's been okay since.

I also never switch my router off except for about once a month to 'degouse' it (is that the right word?).

Thanks all for input. I am tempted to try a new router before doing a marathon
    call to TalkTalk.

Was your replacement the same make though updated Daisees?

And I will leave the router on if that is the preferred thing to do but
husband is worried it's a fire hazard to have it switched on overnight.

The computers aren't but were in the past. Phones and tablets yes. My dad is the same he makes sure the kitchen is all unplugged but doesnt have a say in my office/workshop.. it is best practice to unplug most items due to lightening strikes. Have been out to quite a few houses who lost there tv, computer and sky boxes.
