Real life ones do, and it takes longer to get up again as you get bigger and older.

Is "brekkie" breakfast? Because if so you are missing out on the most important meal of the day.
Also, I don't see it so bad to have snacks in between meals provided the whole calories intake of the day remains the same as having only two meals. My mother was such a fan of not eating in between meals but I am not sure it is the best approach. Read this article...

I can see the logic of eating 5 small meals, trouble is, I think I'd never feel quite full enough so I'd always be hankering after the next mealette.
I tend to eat most of my calories in one big blow out at around 6pm. It gives me the rest of the evening to digest the food, I hate eating late. It also means I'm nice and stuffed so less interested in evening snacking.

      What's the old adage?
      Breakfast like a king,
      Lunch like a lord,
      Dine like a peasant.

I know received wisdom says it's the total number of calories consumed against calories burned that matters, but I have an instinctive feeling that timing of eating does matter also. I used to feel in my younger days that a night on the tiles eating and drinking was offset by the accompanying late bedtime. I never seemed to put on weight then. Also, if you stay up late then you are burning calories for longer. As I get older I find my activity levels are being cut in lots of small ways - such as longer lie-ins - and I think this is one of the reasons for middle-aged spread.

Neither of us have ever eaten breakfast, just beetroot juice and peppermint tea for me, orange juice and strong coffee for t'other half, no milk or sugar for either. I do tend to eat about four/five times a day, however, muesli bar or cereal (muesli for me, Cheerios for him) for lunch with whole milk, fruit or yogurt mid afternoon, perhaps a snack 5ish then a proper dinner around 8pm. I try not to eat after then but t'other half usually will have something ... which could be pasta or a fried egg muffin !!!!!!!! We haven't had anything yet today except the tea and coffee, so better get a move on and get those cereal boxes out! ;)

I have in last 2 years lost nearly 4 stones, firstly my O.H. was ill so loss of appetite, I eventually got to cooking smaller meals.
My O.H. always prior to his illness wanted 3 meals a day, and moaned if I didn`t .
Since his death I eat around midday my first meal, I like to crumble a weetabix add a few oats and some little shreddies, 2 spoonfuls of fat free/low fat greek yoghurt, I like the crunch. Or poached eggs on toast, something like that.
Then for my evening meal whatever I fancy, always including meat, I am a carnivore. Loads of fish in freezer but have to force myself to go for a fish option.
Then if I want a dessert later I frequently crumble a meringue nest add some berries and again 2 spoonfuls of the yoghurt, a sort of eton mess, it satisfies my sweet craving whilst being low cal.

You have my admiration, Pamsdish. You may want to consider a vitamin supplement now and again.
I'm working towards the 80% raw food diet with very little meat. And now I'm abstaining from alcohol until Summer at least. I'm hoping to lose 1 stone this year, but it's not a New Year's Resolution!

I am not really trying though, I do go for the low fat option when available, that`s automatic, my daughter said "You have been on a diet all my life" she was 35 last week.:hate-shocked:
It`s really just come about naturally, i have never eaten much processed foods, I still prefer to make for example a spaghetti bolognese from scratch, now I freeze it into portions for when I want a quick meal, but healthier than a purchased ready meal.
I am now getting quite worried about my clothes, I am going away with my sister on a cruise early February, and some of my clothes are too big ,,,

I have got to the point ,when I wear something thats now too big ,after washing into charity bag, ie went to Homebase in a pair of hardly worn trousers that looked baggy. I have so many hardly worn items and I favour M&S ,Debenhams for the quality, cannot afford a whole new wardrobe, at their prices.
Getting quite concerned about my Daughters Wedding in September, bought a gorgeous outfit ,couldn`t resist it. Last time I tried it on it was snug. size 16, I was 22/24 at this rate i will be looking for alternatives

I have purchased a few decent items from E bay, if you specify new with tags, if you have time (as I have) to browse.Made a few mistakes at first which is why I only go for the new,
