Richard: It looks much sharper with the icons under the "byline". I think the icons look more tidy, and less intrusive, than the old Like / Unlike wording.

I'll mourn the lost of the first few "teaser" names in the old "Like List" though ...

Whilst not "slow" to click on I can't imagine that in practice I will ever bother

Is "Start a conversation useful in the Author Panel on the left? It is available if you click on the Avatar, and as it is uncommon (i.e. the ratio of newly started conversations to actual posts will be tiny) personally I would prefer that the clutter was reduced. It just adds height to the messages (well, where people write short messages!!) and I expect other things will jockey for position in that panel in the future.

If the MOOD image doesn't have a fixed amount of space I would prefer that "No mood" was a blank - 1x1 transparent GIF or somesuch. If people add a Mood then it will show (although I think the novelty will wear off quickly, as it seems to just be a gimmick to me and more suited to a site more strongly typed as a social network forum)

      I'm back.

Sorry that I threw a little tantrum but I was extremely upset by the ad. It wasn't the one that was on this thread but one that was on my post on another thread. It happened to be for a company that I had a fifteen month legal battle with because they tried to rip me off for £10,000 (over 10 years) that I'd put into their pension fund for Mrs Shiney.

They admitted, during the course of the battle, that they had given me incorrect information but could only give back the money I had put in - less 40% :hate-shocked: - as that's what the tax law said. They, eventually, paid me out from their 'slush' fund when I showed them the amount of bad publicity I had organised. That was apart from the summons I had issued. They also paid me 'compensation' to remain quiet.

I never mind being bribed/bought off in situations like that. :heehee:

The 'compensation' was to cover the time I had spent on the case. ;)

The 'slush' fund (my words to them :snork:) was to cover the 40% of the premiums paid plus the value of the profit they had made on the fund - which was another amount they tried not to give us.

After the site was down for a certain period, here I am, and it's flashing and popping with new 'tools' and 'extras'...:dunno:

I'd subscribe to Kristen's opinions about the rating icons toolbar (and the 'list' breakown, which I'd not press for sure). The same goes for the 'mood' animation.
        It's taking space...
It's in the headline position of a member's profile summary (and, while you expect it to be charged with meaning, it's of total irrelevance to both gardening and member-specific information).

That's what I'd prefer. I only changed my Mood because I didn't think 'No Mood' looked good (not that the Moods I choose probably look any better).

P.S. I've only just noticed if you highlight text in a post a 'Quote ME !' button appears, making selective quoting much easier. Is this an upgrade or something that's been there previously?

And as I hoped, it can be used to select various bits from one or more posts and they will keep being added to your draft post. Very useful.

On the whole I'm loving the new features....but the site has definitely slowed down for me or at least there are longer delays when I click on some buttons??

That's only a minor gripe, Good stuff though :dbgrtmb:

Have you cleaned your cache, Bilbo, since the site upgrades? May or may not help but worth a try :)

Nice idea to have topical icons for each individual forum heading on the forum index...but there needs to be a grey "forum - read" icon too. Right now I cannot tell if I have been to a forum area or no...so it's a bit messy.

                Steve...:)
