A challenge here won't be keeping them alive, but a nice challenge would be keeping the more tender fuchsias evergreen/stem alive..

Fuchsia triphylla is so vivid but impossible to keep alive in our climate, so I'm going to move this into the conservatory to at least have an awesome display next year.

Fuchsia boliviana and F. fulgens are potential tropical Fuchsias that might survive outside here though.. I dont know why I havent tried this yet.

Yes its a real big challenge for us all to keep them alive Steven.

I had fulgens many yrs ago but sadly never overwintered for me.

i took a fuchsia cutting a little while back. Its rooted and has 3 pairs of leaves. Was planning to grow it into a fuchsia standard. It's about 2" tall now, any rough ideas on how tall I can get it to grow by summertime?

RB, I had a go at this years ago in the warmer south west. The Fuchsia managed to get to 5' in a couple of seasons. Kept it in the house over winter so as not to loose it though.

                      That's great.

I fear I might have lost a lot of mine. The best I could do was a coldframe in the shed. I've wrapped some in bubblewrap too but it's been so cold I'll be surprised if any but the hardiest will pull through.
