You're speedy one, I can only manage one bid and that normally requires electronic intervention. I don't like bidding in person it sends my heart rate up, how sad is that!

You'll surely not be needing wooly jumpers on that cruise?

But it`s half the fun, stealing it , when somebody has sat confident for hours. :hapydancsmil:

I was watching the news earlier and they are now saying that the temperature at the weekend in some parts of the country will dramatically rise. And this is going to cause a massive quick thawing of snow which will cause local flooding.

That's what Gixen.com does (for you), or did I misunderstand your post?

Put the Auction Number in Gixen, and you maximum bid, and it will bid for you 5 seconds before the end of the auction. Subscribe (fiver I think, wasn't much) and it will also place a bid from another computer on the other side of the world, in case their main server is "down".

Got several auctions for the same thing? "Group" them together and as soon as one auction is won the other "bids" will be cancelled, and won't be placed.

I've just won something I've been looking for for months. 4 or 5 a week come up, but they all go for much higher price than I am prepared to pay. I kept putting the Auction Numbers into Gixen, grouped together, with my paltry bid!! and today ... noone else bid and so it's mine. For 1/3rd less than that item has recently been selling ...

    Easy Peazy!

10-quid a wheel from my local man. But if you can get steel rims cheap enough, and are planning to keep the car for many years, then that is a better bet. No sense wearing your posh alloys in the winter when the salt will wreck them, and you are unlikely to be tanking along when it is icy :)

sounds a very useful tool Kristen, I will look into it, but still love the thrill of it, even if it`s something I am 50/50 about :snork:

Thanks. I thought it looked odd originally, but I assumed that the underline on the link was hiding the bottom of the X ... Doh!

        I've re-edited original :)

Yep, most of ours has gone, here in the baron wastes of the North East coast. Although the local hills are still white.

As luck would have it I bought a 4WD with a knackered engine before christmas. Got my butt into gear before the snow came and fixed it. The upshot was that the back way to work was deserted instead of being the rat run that it usually is and it took me five minutes less than it usually does!:hapydancsmil:

                  Pigs!
Touch wood we've never suffered, but once or twice a week they could walk straight in when we forget to lock the doors.
