Ere, Ziggy - I certanly do - I had a reasonable crop outside last season, and also grew some in the polytunnel at our community growing project - had over 20lbs from just six plants on a wigwam - The beans were sold into the local veg-box scheme and the proceeds went to the project.
Like you I have plenty of saved seed for this season, have even sold a few on Ebay.
Had interesting feedback from one buyer, who lives in Street ..." "I remember my granddad talking about Bridgwater beans when I was a kid we used to go to Bridgwater to buy them assumed that why he called them Bridgwater beans remember a fantastic taste that they had but havent tasted since".............

No, never heard of them. Mind you, Bridgwater might as well be a million miles away, a strange bunch down that way:biggrin: (I've seen the Wicker Man:biggrin:)

If I had more space, I would probably try them. In the future, I might try to take on some of the garden that is currently used for flowers/shrubs and suchlike, if SWMBO will allow it:nonofinger: Mind you, I've managed to persuade her to allow me to grow some Squashes in there this year:)

Well if there's a surplus of seeds somewhere... [subtle hint?]

This might be a dumb question but do you shell these beans before cooking or are they treated like french or runner beans and the whole thing is scoffed?

Hi Andy - treat the beans as you would French beans, just top & tail and cook whole - they are best harvested at about 4" long. They will turn green when cooked. - Don't forget to save yourself a few beans for seed at the end of the season. - Personally I think these are the best flavoured bean I have grown.

Only having one bean plant last year I didn't actually get to eat any:doh: Thought i'd be better off just increasing the seed and waiting for a better year.
