My noid Cattleya is just starting to bloom..................
    DSC_0145b.jpg

It has struggled a little in the new house. I can provide the warmer temps that it needs but find it harder to supply the higher light levels in the winter when it blooms. The pseudobulbs are monocarpic in their habit so the plant can get quite large and a little unruly over time................

I recently bought this Phalaenopsis Liodora, half price at Wyevale.
Most of the orchids were going over hence the sale but this one was good and has two small branches on the stem so hopefully, more flowers.

That's very nice Strongy! I had no idea that Wyevales sold named orchids. Is it too cheeky to ask how much?

£7.50 from £16.99 I wouldn't had paid the full price:biggrin:. There were some Cymbidiums a Miltonia and a couple of Dendrobiums but mainly Phals.
This one is smaller than most, only about 12/15" from the top of the pot.

Talking of Dendrobium, here is another of the Den.kingianium keikis that I potted up in bloom...............
          DSC_0148b.jpg

Took two and a half years to get there.

I've shown Aeschynanthus "Mona Lisa" many times, but as it's in bloom................

It's one of the houseplants that seems to prefer the new house. It was in my conservatory, but here in a north facing window in a warm room it seems to be permanently flowering................

I had one of those a while back Longk but I got rid as it kept weeping and making my floor sticky. Mine was hanging in a south east facing unheated porch and bloomed very well.

            How strange!
It's now my most perfect h/plant because as well as being really happy here it is very low maintenance.

Well worth paying the extra for good sized bulbs. They multiply readily so you will spend enough time bringing these offsets along.

These are my plants currently in flower. Mostly Orchids as I have a bit of a soft spot for them and they do extremely well on my bathroom windowsill!

Thanks! It is. Beautiful plant. I bought it a few months ago from a local garden centre. It was reduced from £29.99 to £8. I nurtured it and nice then has flowered non stop.

Bargain! Was it by chance one if the Garden & Leisure group Garden Centres? They all have an annual Orchid show and order in more exotic species at incredibly high prices. This is followed by a mega sell off a few weeks later! There was both a blue and yellow Vanda I had been keeping my eye on but sadly someone beat me to it! :-)

No, it was a local independent nursery. I do try to avoid the sheds, although I got the Tacca (my avatar) reduced from Wyevale as the blooms had gone over. Fifteen quid and I got it back into bloom later in the year.
