I've only just found this thread, absolutely brilliant Spruce! I'm designing my garden around the wants and needs of our little flying friends so whilst I won't be able to keep them, I hope I can keep them well fed! :-)

Spruce is Gardeners Corner official Bee Master, Yvonne, and last year's events were interesting enough to keep us all tracking what was going on. This years events, Bee wise, are going to be a Honey!!:snork:

            Hi Yvonne
Thanks for this , I sometimes think bee-keeping is like saying you liked the group "Steps" I get the same reaction with the faces ;)

plus any photo of bees/wasps please add on here , if you want to attract the bees no double flowers just singe anything that flowers in June is really helpful as well, bee keepers call in the June lull because of the lack off.
ARMANDII have you added master now  , more pressure:biggrin:

                  Hi Spruce
My garden is still a total mess but I'm hoping to make some serious progress this spring. When I moved in I inherited a Lilac bush and a Mock Orange. I was thinking of removing the Mock orange until I went out into the garden during a viewing in June, just before I moved in, and it was alive with bees, up to 40 at one time. I decided to re-think my plans and keep the tree. I had Lavender, Salvia, and Delphinium in pots last summer which I have over wintered in the greenhouse.I also a Buddleia growing wild but the bricklayer killed it when he re-built the garden wall. I have plans to include Borage, cornflowers, Foxglove, Hollyhocks, loads more Buddleia and varieties of Salvia. Open to other suggestions as long as the flowers aren't yellow or bright orange :-)
