How are you with Marmite? Yes, Mum have heard of that, I know where I can buy it also. will have to get a jar and try it.

Jam and cream cheese is wonderful on toast.

The Stilton cheese above reminds me of a neat combo. Thin sliced ripe pears, and sliced stilton on raisin cinamon bread toated.

If you do try it, a tip for you: spread it thinly!! It is a savoury spread made with yeast extract and people either love it or hate it.

If you do try it and decide you do not like it, it won't be wasted. You can add a spoon of it to soups, gravies, casseroles. Some people (I'm not one of them) even enjoy it as a hot drink in the winter, putting a spoonful into hot water. I've even added it to bread dough ingredients to make a marmite loaf - which my lads really enjoyed! Hmm, must do that again sometime.

Research done at a university found that mosquitos tend to avoid people that eat Marmite :blue thumb: and are attracted to people that eat bananas

I probably buck the trend then, because I've learned in recent years I'm a mosquito babe magnet (and I do enjoy a little marmite on my toast)

Mum, I am horrified! I love a good cracker and cheese, and really love crumpets - why on earth would you wish to defile them by adding that vile spread? I would rather gouge my eyes out with a spoon.

ok, Mum , with the marmite, have not got to that store yet that carries it, been snowing here.
On the topic of Iceberg lettuce----have not bought it for 30 years. Only buy Romaine.
Check and see the nutritional value as a comparison.
