You leaving them to soak until they germinate Joolz? Or have I misunderstood?

(They need some air, as well as water, to germinate, so only want to soak for a while - a day, maybe two, until the seed swells)

Sorry if I've got the wrong end of the stick.

Good luck Mowgley :dbgrtmb: , I've always had near 100% germination with Canna seed of several varieties so you may well have a 'Canna forest' on your hands :heehee: unless I've just been lucky :)

I'll be starting mine over the next few days :)

There should be plenty on Ebay as well 12-12 . All the info on how to prepare the seeds and germinate them is on the Canna posts . They are not difficult if instructions are followed , and they are very spectacular and tropical looking :dbgrtmb: Mine are being planted up for the third season next month . Not bad for a £1.99 packet of seeds !

Hi joolz, yes usually soak for 24-48 hours and then sow in pots and keep warm, however occasionally some seed do show signs of early germination whilst still soaking, these can still be sown as usual..:)

Ney mind bilbo at least ive got the stallions of
the ones ive done so far ;) and it was another practice run with no named hybrids the 2nd time :blue thumb:

Nah, that ain't thick, its just a question of experience. Never know what you might discover by accident by doing it differently either ... Penicillin quite possibly!

Glad I picked up on it now though, hope the seeds of your more special ones are still to do, or have not been in soak for too long :)
