I had a minibus organised yesterday for the trip south for the party, but one member slipped on a deep-fried Mars Bar that her friend had dropped outside a chip ship in Perth and broke her hip, and in falling dragged her friend into the gutter where she broke her wrist and suffered a contusion to her scalp. Both are now in hospital.
The vehicle had to stop in a layby in the borders as six of the passengers indicated they were in extreme need of ‘relief’ after consuming a couple of packs of Special Brew. Unfortunately the driver took off before checking that all were aboard and left two behind.
The bus then stopped just outside Carlisle where three of the passengers had spotted some allotments and decided to do a “compare and contrast, Scotland - England” investigation. One fell asleep in an unsecured shed and the other two were arrested for trespass and drunk and disorderly.
Further down the road the bus was stopped by police as part of a “routine check”. By that time I was the sole passenger. The bus’s license and insurance were in order but I was cautioned for being in possession of offensive wellies in a public place.

Told the driver to turn round and head for home.

At least it wasn't like last year then, with the fight with the Arbroath Smokies.
