Got my bus pass yesterday, I was entitled 2 years ago but didn`t get it as my husband was still alive and we had to use the car all the time
As my neighbour was 60 last week she was entitled as well, so off to Civic centre, new photos as my passport ones (2 months ago)were so horrid, and they did the passes while you wait.
So planning trips around Wales in the better weather, when it would be easier on the bus, than parking in busy town centres. Worrying about time limits etc :snork: When just browsing as we do it will be so easy, and cheaper.

Congratulations! Do you get it at 60? Only 14 months to go then.

My council gives free gym/leisure centre membership at 60, that'll save me a clear £26 pcm. Hope the council doesn't turn Conservative before I get there. Should be OK, it's 52-2 against at the moment. :yay:

Looks like I'll have to wait until I'm 65, although the Government will have probably increased the qualifying age to 70 by then, introduced charges for them and put a cap on the amount it can be used.

My hubby got his last year after having to wait until he was 61 because now the law has changed on retirement age he had to wait until women round the same age had retired at sixty one or some such rubbish although he hasn't used it yet because for him to go to work by bus would take him around 1 1/2hours which is of no use as it is only 30 minutes by car plus to do our fortnighly shopping by bus,i don't think there would be enough room in the buses boot to get all the bags of grub in :snork:

He is hoping to use it when we go away on holiday so we can use local buses and just me having to pay bus fare:snork:

If Ca moran gets in next time there is talk of it being scrapped or done by means testing, plus the heating allowance being done away with or means tested:frown:

I have always said that our generation will just have to carry on until we drop dead as every time we get close, the goal posts are moved so we/I shall never get it:mad:

Hope you enjoy the use of your bus pass Pam:blue thumb:

It's great to have in London as you can go anywhere on a bus pass and it's as quick as a taxi if its congested. AND ITS FREE  . Buses run more frequently and after an evening show, there are loads and loads.

I won't get mine untill November ( I'll be nearly 62 then )as it depends on your birth date.
By the time Inhouse Adviser is entitled they would have probably scrapped it.
