:) Hello and welcome to GC nFrost.

They sure look Leylandii to me ... I had twenty of the 'original beauties then nightmares' in Buckinghamshire. However, I never allowed mine to go over three meters. I would be shot of them in a moment ...

      Hope you enjoy the forum!

Hi, welcome to Gardeners Corner:thumbsup: :snork: . Just as an aid to us all to give us a clearer "picture" of your garden conditions can you give us an idea of which way your garden faces, North?, South?, East? or West? and what sort of soil have you got, clay, sandy, stony, loam? Looks like your 5 week old son [congratulations on him by the way!] is going to have a great place to grow up in.:snork:

Thanks all, the previous tenants took no care of the garden at all so it was just lawn, dead trees, fence, brambles and nettles.

The soil is mostly clay with stones in (yay!) after I dug all the rocks and roots out. There's plenty of bulbs springing up everywhere however.

From looking at google maps it would appear the garden points to the East, not ideal?

              Good evening nFrost,
looks like you've already met up with a lot of the regulars. You've scored 10/10 in my book with all those luvvly piccies! With a bit of help and encouragement, your garden will look every bit as the folks on t'other side of fence;) . Those 2 tree monsters need a good SORT OUT!. They are blocking so much good light from your garden.
Great to have you here on GC,
              Jenny namaste:sign0016:
