    Morning all.

In our house, we are all struck down with a lurgy. Constant puking, literally no strength, dizzy, and poor wife even went off in an ambulance on account of being in agonising pain and dehydrated.

We all seem a bit better today, but still rough as a dog. Funny thing is, all last night and still today, I've been having really intense cravings for over ripe fruit. Specifically strawberries, pineapples and plums. Now I do believe the human body knows what its lacking, and where to find it, but why over ripe strawberries and pineapples (and plums to a lesser extent)?

The craving was so strong last night that despite being too ill to walk, and certainly too ill to drive, I actually considered going to see if Tescos was open.

I don't think fruit is a good idea while you have a vomiting bug . I just have dry toast ( no butter ), and water with a pinch of salt in it .

Sorry to hear the Clueless clan aren't on form....hope you all get better soon:grphg:
I'd just go for plenty of fluids....boiled water is my 'thing' and snacks... little and often...as Harry says dry toast or crackers...then when your stomachs feel up to it some soup....best not to overload with anything heavier...especially if it may 'come back to visit':eeew: ....rest and sleep too...if you get the chance....take it easy:dbgrtmb:

Sounds awful - is that the Norovirus you all have? - is your wife home again now, clue?

Frequent sips of plain water (to keep hydrated); once you can keep down the sips, you can build up to gulps. Fizzy drinks and fruit juices will aggravate diarrhoea; milky drinks should probably be avoided too.

Your craving my not have been your own body's way of tempting you to eat something you need; it may have been the norovirus conning your body to eat something *it* needs (the fruit would give you the squits).

Or (more likely) it could be your hot, dehydrated, brain imagining alsorts ;)

Get well soon wishes to all your household :grphg:

            Thanks all:)

Wife is back home now. She spent a few hours on a drip to rehyrdrate her. They told her it was gastrosomethingitis.

I had gasroenteritis that time when I ate some raw mussles that I had caught myself  in Alghero-Sardinia. The day after I was to travel by sea for 12 hours to go up north. Needless to say that it was the most nightmarish journey ever, the tummyacke was just escruciating. Luckily upon arrival a good ten flacons of ENTEROGERMINA fixed it all-in due time.
