What's Buzzing or Flying near You Today..?? Mark 2..!!

Yesterday evening, after a late dog walk to the plot, my daughter heard some strange noises outside. By the time I was told it was two peacocks on a neighbour's roof, only one was still there:

 

They like to get as high as they can to roost, guess the other one saw a helicopter & jumped.

Heard a Cuckoo on the levels this Morning, June's getting a bit late for them I would have thought.

 

Had the first visit by a Bullfinch to my garden yesterday. Hope he becomes a regular.

Just wondered if others are noticing that the number of chaffinches has been down for the last couple of years. They used to be so common that we called them the 'new sparrows', but now they are a relatively rare sight and we don't get groups of them as we once did.

 

Chaffinches visit my garden during the winter months. I tend to get a dozen or more come down together, but haven't noticed dwindling numbers.

 

Indeed Claralou, I haven't seen them in large numbers for some time, I do get a male chaffinch coming to the garden daily, he did have a mate but I haven't seen her for ages

 

Spotted the male feeding a young one earlier.

 

Lovely photos of the Harris Hawk and the European Eagle Owl Shiney.Those eyes on the Eagle Owl are something else,so colourful and bright.:D

Red Kite yesterday at Oakley near Basingstoke. It was a long way off so no close up.

 

Found this Privet Hawk-Moth {Sphinx ligustri}when I visited my friend yesterday morning and had to rescue it as the lady of the house was freaking out.Can't understand why....

Both moth and caterpillar are amazing, I love them.

Saw my first Hummingbird Hawkmoth yesterday along with a Marbled White Butterfly.

 

they are lovely pics kandy x we had one on the valerian last week but couldnt get a decent pic their wings move that fast i had to google it as id never seen one before so glad i got to see one x

Strongy I would also love to see the caterpillar but I think my chances of seeing one are very slim:D

Joolz,glad I am not the only one to have seen one.It is one bug I never ever thought I would see so it was a shock to see it clinging to my friends house brickwork.I think it musrt have been attracted to her outside night light.:DI have quiet a few photos of it I have taken and the photos I have of it with it's wings flapping made the photo come out a bit blurred:gaagh:
